Sylvester's Night Out

This jacket using the Windowpane Jacket pattern was my answer to a need for a dressy occasion outfit. Bright red satin was appliquéd with Sylvester heads cut out from a children's print I had in my stash (unfortunately this fabric is NOT easy to find, so if you have some in your collection, hang on to it!).

It was then covered with black sheer organza to mute the bright red satin and give it elegance. Black Ultrasuede bow ties were fused on top of the sheer and small crystals added for a truly evening attitude!

Detail of Sylvester and collar edge which was also decorated with Ultrasuede strips and more crystals.

Notice the collar, cuffs and band are darker? That's just two layers of sheer!

Lee Anne's Windowpane Jacket

Using batik rayon, I made this wonderful version of the Windowpane jacket. Layered with various colors of more rayon, it's soft and luxurious. I added the lapel detail as a way to tie in the collar and bands and a fun play on the window pane effect.
